NDIS Plan Reviews: What to Expect

Plan reviews are your opportunity to make sure your NDIS funding still matches your actual life — not the life you had when the plan was written. Before your review, gather evidence: notes from your support coordinator, any changes in your health or circumstances, and specific examples of where your current funding fell short or where you didn't use funding because it wasn't the right fit. The NDIA responds well to concrete examples, not general statements. It helps to separate "what changed" from "what I want changed." If your support needs have genuinely increased, be specific about why. If you simply want more flexibility, that's a different conversation and worth having with your planner directly. Bring a support person if that helps you feel more confident — a family member, advocate, or your support coordinator can all attend. And remember, if a review outcome doesn't reflect your needs, you can request an internal review or seek advice on next steps.
